Chestnut Festival

Every year near the 2nd weekend of October, when the autumn colours are at their best and the chestnut trees bloom, through the smoke of the chimneys of the stonebuilt houses and the sweet baked chestnuts, we celebrate this local product distilling of tsipouro on site. When Saturday morning arrives the whole village is overwhelmed by smells you can’t ever forget. The same afternoon the women of the village put out and give away pies, sweets and traditional food at the same time baked chestnuts smell all around.
