Ambelakiotissa
All year round residents of the village are the two priests of the Holy Monastery of Panagia Ambelakiotissa, who stand fast guarding church and historical traditions. Ambelakiotissa is considered the Ark of Nafpaktia as it stores priceless heirlooms.

Artificial Lakes of Mornos and Evinos - Karpenisi
The lake of Mornos is an artificial lake which was constracted to provide water to the country’s capital Athens as it grew and required more water. It was constructed in 1979 by making a dam at Mornos River. The lake is 15.5km wide putting it at 9th place among other artificial lakes. You can visit it very easily from Ano Chora as it is only 45km away. The lake is almost in the centre of Fokida , standing west of Lidoriki, the plane it filled was between Giona and Vardousia mountains. It collects water not only from the River Mornos but from smaller river springs coming into the lake, the most famous is Kokkinopotamos, which come down from Vardousia Mountains.
Evinos lake is north of Ano Chora about 35km away on the border of Evritania. From here, you will pass if you want to go on a daytrip to Karpenisi. Karpenisi is about 90km away from Ano Chora and it is about 1.5/2 hours drive through pine trees. On your drive you will see Evinos lake and the villages Klepa, Domnista and Krikelo.
